14th International Symposium on Pre-Harvest Sprouting in Cereals

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my pleasure and honor to invite you to the 14th International Symposium on Pre-Harvest Sprouting in Cereals from July 30 to August 2, 2019 in Chengdu, China. Research in the scientific understanding of pre-harvest sprouting and breeding for PHS tolerance cereals will be promoted by a host of world-class scientists and industry representatives that will highlight both applied and fundamental research works. The wide-range realm of the regulation of dormancy and germination, baking quality and end-use, germination and malting, and new germplasm materials and method for PHS tolerance breeding will be discussed. It will provide participants with a comprehensive and fruitful experience.

Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, is noted for Sichuan food culture, giant panda, Jinsha site, and Dujiangyan irrigation system. I believe that Chengdu and the hospitable people in the city will surely stand out in the memory of every participant.

2018 Hawaiʻi Native Seed Conference

We are excited to announce the 2018 Hawaiʻi Native Seed Conference and Hawaiʻi Seed Bank Partnership Meeting on May 15-18 2018 at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Information and updates are available here: http://laukahi.org/hnsc2018/
The Hawai‘i Native Seed Conference brings together conservationists, horticulturalists, researchers, and others working with seeds of native Hawaiian plants to share knowledge with each other and visiting experts. The conference will take place from May 15-18, 2018, at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. The conference will begin with a meeting of the Hawai‘i Seed Bank Partnership on May 15. The following days will feature speakers from Hawaiʻi, and several sessions led by staff from the Kew Millennium Seed Bank Partnership. Topics for the conference will focus on strategies and methods for collecting, handling, and processing seed collections for propagation and storage, making this widely applicable for anyone working in ecosystem restoration in the Pacific region. 
Abstracts will be accepted January 12 - February 28 (link to: Abstract Submission)

The NASSTEC (The Native Seed Science, Technology and Conservation Initial Training Network) International Conference: ‘Seed quality of native species – ecology, production and policy’ will be held from 25-29 September at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, UK.
