Job opportunity: Research Associate in Seed Ecology
Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew are seeking a highly motivated seed ecologist to join a 2.5 year project funded by the Forestry Commission on UK native tree seeds. The project aims to understand inter- and intra-specific variation in germination and other seed traits and to apply this knowledge to optimise seed quality and germinability via innovative high throughput optical screening techniques. The Research Associate will lead the spatial and phylogenetic analyses to reveal biogeographical patterns in tree seed traits, as well as conduct laboratory work to generate seed trait data and participate in dissemination activities.
