Post doc position in Molecular Biology and Phylogeny

The Unesp / FCA Seed Laboratory (campus Botucatu- São Paulo – Brazil) is offering a postdoctoral fellowship linked to the Thematic Project – FAPESP (process 2017 / 50211-9) “Genetic and molecular basis of chlorophyll retention in seeds: a step forward to improve soybean adaptability to climate change”, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Edvaldo A. Amaral da Silva.

The selected candidate will perform experiments to a) record and compare the phylogenetic pattern of soybean genotypes using phenotyping data, as well as genotyping information by genetic sequencing; and, b) to evaluate the main chlorophyll degradation regulators in soybean seeds, in order to identify potential molecular markers for breeding selection.

The vacancy is open to Brazilians and foreigners. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Postdoctoral Scholarship in the amount of R $ 7,373.10 per month and a Technical Reserve equivalent to 15% of the annual scholarship amount to meet unforeseen expenses and directly related to the research activity.
